Miss Fuller’s Fantastic First Grade
First grade continues to grow this year. I am so proud of all the progress they have made. We had a blast on our field trips to The Fun Spot and Up Yonda Farm this winter! We can't wait for the next field trip.
In our math class, we have been learning about place value. Soon we will be adding and subtracting double-digit numbers! The first graders are excited to take on this new challenge. In ELA, we have been finishing up our unit about plants. We look forward to planting and watching sunflower seeds grow after our spring break.
In the winter, we did a science unit about the sun and shadows. We are so excited to see the sunshine, so we can go back and finish up some experiments outside. Hopefully, spring is here to stay! Before break, we did a quick STEM activity where they had to build a nest for their “chick” or peep. They were very creative and successful with this experiment! They even kept trying to see if they could find alternative ways to make their chick sit in their nest!
