Third Grade Happening
It has been a joy learning with this amazing group of 6 students. Each day they are growing in their learning! There have been fun things in the 3rd-grade classroom!
In ELA, we finished reading three very different narrative stories. All are realistic fiction. We were talking about characters’ motivations in a story and how that influences their actions, thoughts, and feelings. Currently the 3rd graders are writing their own narrative where they created their own constellation who is the main character in their story. The story contains a descriptive beginning, something the character wants, a problem, solution and finally a message. They have all been working very hard!
In math, we have been diving into our multiplication practice and using various multiplication strategies to solve math facts. In our current lessons, we have been learning to use doubles to help with multiplication facts! They should be very proud of themselves for their participation throughout the day.
Finally, before the weather got too cold and wet, we joined Ms. Riley's high school class outside for a nature hike! She prepared a scavenger hunt for us all and we were like the science detectives we have been reading about and explored nature! We saw some awesome nature, and some cute creepy crawlies! Thank you, Ms. Riley!
