Mrs. Kathleen Arnold

Hello, my name is Heather Lynn. I have been a substitute teacher at MCS for the last 12 years or so, and I'm so excited to return in September as a Teacher Assistant.

I have a great appreciation for the hard work, planning, and caring that our staff at Minerva put in for our students. I can't imagine a better team to be a part of!

I am a Professional Powerlifter, a part of Team FHF out of Fair Haven, Vt. I have a world record squat, four NH/VT State records under my belt, and going for 3 more Pro world records in September. My lifting career has taught me so many things, but the most important is that you can do anything in life with the support of those around you. We rarely accomplish anything completely independently, and it's important to accept help and support wherever you can. Nothing worthwhile comes without hard work, and sometimes we need others to push us to be the best versions of ourselves. I think this translates immensely in my interactions with our students over the last few years.

I also very much enjoy cooking and painting. In the winter months, you can find me crocheting during my limited downtime. I love sharks and dinosaurs, my chocolate lab Gunner, and of course, Mr. Lynn.

I've always had a passion for helping others and helping our students grow into the best adults they can be an absolute honor. I'm so looking forward to getting back to school in the fall. Until then, I hope everyone has a wonderful summer!!

Mr. Matthew Brown

Good morning everyone. I would like to introduce to you another new staff member! Matthew Brown will be filling a long-term substitute position for us! Here is some information about Matthew...
“Hello everyone, my name is Matthew Brown. I grew up in Minerva and still live locally. I attended SUNY Potsdam where I received my Bachelor's degree in English Literature. I plan on attending Graduate School to receive a Masters's in Early Education.
While attending Potsdam I was on the cross country and track team. I specialized in running the mile and the 5k. I have the school record for the 5k with a time of 17:23. My greatest achievement while being a part of the team was being able to break 5 minutes in the mile and run a 4:53.

When I am not working I enjoy being outside doing anything active. This past summer I picked up mountain biking racing at various mountains for the Eastern States Cup league. I also enjoy hiking, kayaking, or Cross Country skiing in the winter months.
I look forward to being a part of the community in Minerva and being able to give back as much as I can for everything this town has done for me growing up.”

Mrs. Stacie McNally

Hello, my name is Stacie McNally and I’m excited to be in my 11th year working as a teaching assistant at MCS. Over the years I’ve been able to work with some amazing adults and students who have enriched my life in so many ways. These last few years I’ve been blessed to work with our youngest students in Pre-Kindergarten with Mrs. Loomis, which you found out last week is my partner in crime. The excitement the students bring each day brings a smile to my face and there is never a dull moment with these amazing youngsters. They keep me young just ask them as I’m 4 just like them, only I’m double 4s. I’m also fortunate that I get to spend time with a variety of aged students prior to pre-k’s arrival at school. I can be seen working with our youngest students right up to our seniors as they finally begin to plan their senior trip with myself and my amazing co-advisor Mrs. Husson.

I grew up in Chestertown, NY attending North Warren Central School when it was still 3 separate buildings. After high school, I attended Suny Adirondack (formerly ACC) and later on The College of Saint Rose earning my Bachelors in Elementary Education Pre-K through 6th grade in 2003. I was married to my wonderful husband Andrew McNally (an alumnus of MCS) a few short months later and we welcomed our daughter Hannah into the world one day after our 1 year anniversary. So began my adventure as a stay-at-home mom, and I also began to help with my husband's excavating business by managing the office. We welcomed our son Nathan into the world 1 year and 10 months after Hannah. I spent an amazing 7 years at home with my children and it was the best decision we ever made for our family. However, this came with one sacrifice, while I was at home my teaching certificate expired. The year Nathan started kindergarten, I was very fortunate that the school had an opening for a teaching assistant and I was eager to get back to working with students and I’ve loved every minute of it.

When I’m not at school, or on the sidelines cheering on a sporting event I can be found either reading, hiking, canoeing, or spending time at our camp in Long Lake. Who am I kidding? I'm probably still reading if I’m at my camp while the kids are four-wheeling, snowmobiling, canoeing, hunting, or fishing, though sometimes I still join them. It’s just really, really hard for me to put down a good book and I’ll read any genre, but my favorite is a good mystery. My most recent books have been Pete the Cat, Rocking in My School Shoes with Pre-K, and The Egypt Game with the 6th grade. It couldn’t get any better, I get to share my passion for reading at school with my students.

I’m looking forward to another wonderful year at MCS! This year is especially special as it is my daughter's senior year here at MCS. We are grateful for all of the wonderful opportunities that have been available to her and my son throughout their time here. It’s rare to find a photo of myself, so here’s one of me and Hannah, on a very special day when she was inducted into the National Honor Society.

Mrs. Lizbeth (Ochsie) Ordway

Hello, I am Lizbeth (Ochsie) Ordway. Beyond ecstatic is how I would say I am feeling about returning to MCS as a Teaching Assistant in the fall! My stint as a Teacher’s aide for the second half of last year was amazing in so many ways. From my bus ride with the Pre-K, lunch duty, gym classes, and working with so many talented professionals, I am so glad to be returning to this extraordinary team! Small most certainly is special!!

Minerva is my home and has been in so many ways. I graduated from MCS, my parents have/had worked for the school, I live in town, and my family is here. Rob, my husband, and Michelle, our daughter, have made our life here. Michelle is a student at the school and calls my alma mater home! One may say I’ve been a “fixture” here at MCS, whether it be two decades of substitute teaching, coaching either Elementary soccer and basketball in previous years, serving on the Minerva Community Scholarship fund, or working the annual budget vote. Service to the school and community is vital when you live in a small town.

I can be found in the garage as a co-conspirator to whatever project Rob has come up with in my spare time. Michelle is never far behind in her involvement. There is always a project to be done or an adventure between the Harley or the Jeep! Also, our five ducks and three dogs keep us on our toes. My family has been behind me every step of the way and always encourages me to keep pushing and supports me endlessly.

In the summer, I can be found teaching swimming while managing two beaches and the lifeguards. I guess you could say teaching and working with kids is a passion. Growing up surrounded by those in education, I realized the critical role the school plays in the life of a child but also those involved with it. I thank MCS for all they have done and continue to do for myself, my family, and all those involved in MCS. This place is truly one of a kind, and everyone goes above and beyond without being asked to! Way to go, MCS. Returning to my alma mater to work means so very much, and I thank everyone who helped me achieve this goal! I am so thrilled to see what this school year has in store and look forward to expanding my education as well as my students!!
