Asbestos Management Plan Notifications2020 – 2021 School Year Asbestos Management Plan
Minerva Central School District will submit by September 1, 2019, information regarding asbestos containing building materials (ACBM) in the central school district to the New York State Education Department. This information is documented in the school district Asbestos Management Plan, which is in accordance with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) of 1987 (40 CFR Part 763). This memorandum is intended to fulfill annual notification requirements.
The Minerva Central School has complied with the AHERA regulation by conducting the three-year re-inspection of asbestos containing building materials on April 23, 2019. Additionally, known and assumed ACBM’s are visually inspected every six months. The next re-inspection must be conducted no later than April 23, 2022.
The Asbestos Management Plan for Minerva Central School is available in the Main Office for public review during on Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Additionally, the LEA Designee is required to have a copy of the plan.
