Welcome to Miss Loomis' PreK-K

Degrees and Certifications:

Miss Ashley Loomis

Hello! I am Ashley Loomis and I am currently the Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten teacher. This is my fifth year teaching at Minerva and each year has been a rewarding experience. In my first two years of teaching, I taught first grade. For the past three years, I have taught Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten with my amazing and trusty partner-in-crime Stacie McNally. I graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2017 with my Master’s in Childhood Education and Special Education, Birth - 6th Grade. After graduating, I accepted a full-time teaching position at Minerva. This opportunity allowed me to move back home to be close to my family and friends. Growing up in North Creek and attending Johnsburg Central School, I knew I wanted the small school teaching experience. I was very fortunate and grateful to find a close-knit school district and community where I could begin my teaching career.
When I am not teaching or spending time preparing for the coming school days, I love staying active. If I am not at school or busy at home, you are guaranteed to find me at Hot Yoga. I am a hot yogi enthusiast and practice daily! I love to incorporate mindfulness and yoga movement breaks into my classroom routine. Another fun fact about me is I have a slight addiction to sushi. There is nothing I enjoy more than sushi after a nice hot yoga class. I enjoy spending my weekends and summers with my family. Two years ago I became an aunt and it has changed my life. I may be biased, but my niece is the greatest blessing and is absolutely amazing. I have loved watching her grow and learn daily. During my other free time I also enjoy hiking, biking, golfing, baking, and traveling.
My time at Minerva has been rewarding and the greatest learning experience. I have been fortunate enough to make lifelong friends while doing something I love every day. I thank all my students’ parents for allowing me the opportunity to teach and learn alongside their children. I am starting to feel old knowing my first class of students is now in fifth grade. Crazy! Luckily, I have the chance to see them in the hall and talk with them on a regular basis. I hope everyone has a safe, successful, and enriching school year!
